Champions League Group Stage Predictions Review

Before the Champions League group stage, I predicted the outcome of each group.

Group A: 1. PSG; 2. Porto; 3. Dynamo Kiev; 4. Dinamo Zagreb

Group B (The Oliver Giroud Group): 1. Schalke; 2. Arsenal; 3. Olympiacos; 4. Montpelier

Group C: 1. Zenit St. Petersburg; 2. Malaga; 3. Milan; 4. Anderlecht

Group D (Group of Death): 1. Real Madrid; 2. Manchester City; 3. Borussia Dortmund; 4. Ajax

Group E: 1. Juventus; 2. Chelsea; 3. Shakhtar Donetsk; 4. Nordsjaelland

Group F: 1. Bayern Munich; 2. Valencia; 3. Lille; 4. BATE Borisov

Group G: 1. Barcelona; 2. Benfica; 3. Celtic; 4. Spartak Moscow

Group H: 1. Manchester United; 2. Galatasaray; 3. Braga; 4. CFR Cluj

Group A: I picked this group exactly right. PSG’s win yesterday over Porto got them to first place.

Group B: I also got this group exactly right. Arsenal had a chance to finish first in their group but they squandered a lead and lost at Olympiacos.

Group C: I picked Anderlecht to finish last, but the tope three is scrambled. Malaga and AC Milan topped the group, and Zenit St. Petersburg disappointed.

Group D: I got this wrong totally wrong but it wast he most enjoyable to watch by far. Borussia Dortmund won the group and Real Madrid finished second. Manchester City failed to win a match and are at the bottom of the group.

Group E: I picked first and last place correctly, but flipped the other two. Shakhtar Donetsk are through and Chelsea headed to the Europa League.

Group F: I picked the top two right in this group. Third and fourth flipped.

Group G: This group produced the most dramatic ending on the last match day. Barcelona won the group, and Celtic edged Benfica for second. Spartak Moscow were last.

Group H: Picked the top two correctly and switched three and four. Cluj almost pulled it out on the last day but finished third.
