Big 12 Win Total and Standings Preview

Best Bets

Kansas State over 7.5 wins (-150): The Wildcats won seven regular season games in 2013 after two straight seasons where they won more than 10. Bill Snyder teams are always well prepared for games. I think the combo of quarterback Jake Waters and wide receiver Tyler Lockett will put up big numbers this season. Hosting Auburn and trips to Oklahoma and Baylor is where I see the losses. Kansas State will win the rest of their games and finish third in the Big 12.

Texas under 7.5 wins (-105): Charlie Strong is certainly putting his footprint on the Texas program by kicking players off the team and not giving them the logo on their helmet until they “earn it”. This might be good coaching for the long-term but I can’t see that helping now. Quarterback David Ash has reportedly done well in camp but you can’t count on him to stay healthy. Texas plays BYU and UCLA out of conference along with the nine Big 12 games. I think Texas will win six games.

Leans

Oklahoma under 10.5 wins (-115): A lot of love for Oklahoma this offseason. I think a big part of it has to do with their demolishing of Alabama last Sugar Bowl. Oklahoma always losses a game or two each season that they should win. I don’t want to make it a best bet because this team has the potential to go undefeated.
